Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, September 14th
I. President Announcements and Guests
- Meeting opened with an icebreaker led by President Aisha Townend
- Advisors Bobbie Gibson & Valerie Davidson gave information about Circle City Classic
- Only paid BSU Members may participate in the parade
- Students signed up for what they wanted to do in the parade (passing out candy to children, guarding Hink, holding banner, holding flags, and pulling balloon (guys only)
- Students that participate in the parade get a free ticket to the game and concert following fea Monica and Bow Wow
- Students will carpool that morning to the downtown meet up location
- Information was given regarding t-shirts: they are included in your dues, the design this year will feature the signatures of members in the fist on the back of the shirt to endorse this years theme "Engraving Our Names"
II. Vice President of Campus Events and Volunteerism
- BSU Field Day: September 21st from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. on the mall near Star Fountain
- Spelling Bee: September 28th
- BAA Reception at the RAM : September 30th
- Classic Parade: October 1st
- BSU Party: October 7th
- AIDS Walk: October 8th
- Sexpert: October 19th
- Volunteering at Broad Ripple High School will begin at the end of September
III. Treasurer
- Continue to pay your dues online (link on membership page) or in person to Whitnie Goins
- New members are $25 and returning members are discounted $5 for every year active
- Perks for being a paid member: full participation in any BSU Events, leadership roles, discount for BSU Parties, trips and dinners paid for (partial or full), and seniors receive a BSU stow

V. Announcements
- Black Greek 101: Thursday, Sept. 23rd at IUPUI at 6 p.m.
- There are paid internships available through the government and senate: Member Amanda Lewis will supply info at next meeting
- There will be a tailgating contest for best tailgating food: SGA
- There is a chance for orgs to win reserved seats at home basketball games: SGA
